The Geo Logica Salt Basins Technical Interest Group Field Trip is back and will take place between 7th and 11th of October 2024, along the #Lusitanian and #Algarve basins in Portugal.
From #salttectonics and its interaction with sedimentary and igneous processes, the upcoming course is certified by the European Federation of Geologists (EFG) in association with Associação Portuguesa de Geólogos(APG).
This technical training course is especially designed for professional structural geologists, salt experts, mining geologists and geophysicists, focusing on the role of salt-related structures in the ongoing #energytransition process. It will cover a multitude of salt-related themes, including implications on #oilandgas #exploration and #production, #geothermal #energy, #CarbonCapture and #Sequestration and #underground #energystorage.
The course will be led by Pedro Barreto from Geo Logica alongside Prof. Ian Davison (former Earthmoves and Royal Holloway - University of London) and Dr. Ricardo Pereira (FCT NOVA & Dom Luiz Institute, Lisbon).
Special discount rates available for EFG - European Federation of Geologists (20%) or APG - Associação Portuguesa de Geólogos members (10%).
